The Virginia Quarterly Review

I got my first copy of the Virginia Quarterly Review, and have loved what I have seen of it so far. Great photos, essays, and art about the human cost of conflict, presented in a compassionate, engaging, and less political, or academic fashion. Check it out!

Well, here’s hoping you’ll like our next one, too. We just got it off to the printer yesterday (at last!) This one is about religion and the supernatural, with a series of stories about superheroes. Art Spiegelman did our cover — breaking his lifelong refusal to draw superheroes — and there’s the next installment of Chris Ware’s “Jordan W. Lint” series. There’s a long piece about Pat Robertson and some never before published work by Ezra Pound. And you’ll be pleased to know that we’ve got new work by Ted Kooser…though they’re not valentines. 🙂
